Therapeutic Racial Healing

Service Description

*Coming 2021* This offering will be based in anti-oppressive, anti-colonial, anti-racist theory and practice. This offering will help participants unpack and dismatle the ways that they have internalized oppression related to race and many other intersecting identities. 1) Participants will examine the ways that colonization and oppression has impacted their racial identity. 2) They will unpack tools of colonization and oppression such as colorism, texturism, and featurism rooted in anti-blackness. 3) This session will offer ancestral reflection and facilitators will encourage participants to seek out connection with spirituality in the ways that make the most sense to them (ancestors, higher being/power, nature etc). 4) Participants will be encouraged to continue the return to self journey and define healing practices that they can use moving forward. How To: Participants may sign up for a screening for the Racial Healing group, 20 slots will be reserved. This group will be offered on a sliding scale. *This is not a substitute for therapy
